I managed to get into the water at noon today after all the rain we had from last night and this morning. Water temperatue is 66-67° the it's crystal clear.
I was told when I got here that the shad migration is in full swing. So the walleye bite is off right now. The owner at the resort is a walleye guide and he hasn't caught very many since the shad arrived in the Bay.
I managed to sneak up on a school of largemouth that were busting shad on the surface. After dropping my power poles. i caught 8, almost all the same size, using a shad shaped topwater lure. They then disappeared as quickly as they showed up. I stayed in the area casting various other lures with nothing so I called it quits. I'll go back tomorrow to see if I can find them again.
