We were able to get away for 10 days and had an absolutely great time doing a lot of relaxation, eating and drinking, watching wildlife and of course out most mornings fishing for bass and or lake trout.....which were on fire most days
the weather was just great most days except for 1 rain day, but we really needed that
got some odd jobs done around the cottage as well
One of the highlights was a new bird at the feeder,,,,,first in over 60 years.I took photos but they are not that great,,,,,,,a google search will show you the colors way better
I had 3 great dead calm evenings and jigging for lake trout was just great from 6 pm to 8 pm
after that I switched to bass topwaters and had a riot......except on 2 nights the mosquitoes were quite active right at that majic time
spent 1 day looking for big lou and found him in the regular bay late afternoon.....he hasn't changed....I got 3 decent bass and then a 7-8 inch rock bass and while reeling that one in this giant shadow comes out from under a tree and then smashes the bass,,,I winched down the drag a far as I dared and he immediately starts to pull me back to that log....boat is moving and I kick on the electric motor, but to no avail......he gets into the log and 1 minute later he's gone I sat back lit up a smoke and just took it all in again
honestly I hope I never get him but I will try every year It's a beast and deserves to roam free
