I just pulled into the driveway and unpacked the truck before getting my fishing gear into the boat and getting the boat wet. Here we go again!! The channel looks pretty peaceful right now so I'll probably give it a go until dinnertime. Can't wait to get a line wet!!
Where are those smallies?

Sorry, no fish porn today. I stayed out for a little over an hour because I left the remote for my power poles in the truck (ditz!). I ended up constantly fighting the wind and current between a couple of islands. But I did manage to ger both 2 smallies and two pike, one each on a senko and one each on a white spinnerbait. The longest pike was about 24", the biggest smallie was a little over 2lb. The fish were on the same rock pile that I've fished for the last 4 trips here. Called it quits for the day and went to rustle up some grub from a local burger truck (Lucky's). Tomorrow is supposed to rain and thunder pretty much all day so I'll spend the day watching a movie or two and re-stringing one reel. Same again on Monday, but I'll probably be on the course in Elliott Lake. Still have another 3 days of fishing before going home on Friday.

Rain ends after lunch tomorrow Lionel but there is a bit of wind in the afternoon and lots of cloud. I wonder how the bass bite up there after it rains.

The front has gone through up here Jaime. Now it's just drizzle with no wind and a ton less humid. Supposed to clear up tonight sometime, and the temps have dropped from high 80's last night to 66 right now. I'm hoping the cloud cover sticks around for another day to get the topwater bite ignited. They weren't interested in anything higher than a few feet off the bottom yesterday, My senko's didn't get touched until just before they got to the rocks.
Last night was a tough night trying to get to sleep at 85 degrees inside with all the windows open and the ceiling fan running full tilt, I was sweating like a racehorse unpacking last night! Tonight will be a lot better, closing most of the windows and turning off the fan.

I was sitting on the deck a few minutes ago, and heard a youngster yelling down by the beach below my cabin. I was about to go and check on him to make sure he was ok, but it was a scream of excitement. "I got him!!" He came up, saw me and had to stop to explain that he had just caught a muskie on the beach in aboutt 2 feet of water. He showed me on my railing that it was a little over 3 feet long, longer than he was tall...he's about 8. He ran back to his cabin to tell his parents and came back heading down to the beach again with a bottle of coke and an arm full of tackle trays!! "I'm going to get another one!!"

Update....dad came over and went down to the beach. When he came back up, he said that he saw a long fish swimming around the beach, but what he described wasn't a muskie. It was a long nose gar....there's thousands of them around this area. Long skinny body with a long skinny snout with what looks like thousands of teeth. But I wasn't going to ruin the kids excitement.

First one I saw as a kid before I learned how to fish for them. We thought it was a log in the reeds. Then it moved. We screamed and ran out of the shallow water we were catching minnows and frogs in. Cool fish they are and great fighters.
