Was perfect last night full moon no clouds no wind. You could see and here the crappie pop the surface of the water as they picked off bugs and minnows on or under the surface. No keeper walleye but about a dozen caught between 14 and 16 inches too skinny for me to keep. Catch them again next year. Lots of rock bass as usual. Approx. 25 crappie caught there was tons of crappie last night. Had so many hard hits on the crank baits. But it was like the fish were head butting the bait and then swimming away. Kept 6 nice ones between 13 and 15.5 inches. The rest were between 11 and 13 inches. No small crappie last night. All crappie were caught on crank baits casting into 8 feet of water slow retrieve. Started fishing at 6pm and fished until almost sunrise.

I tried to stretch this one to catch DB on his 16.25 monster crappie. This was my biggest last night it measured 15.9 inches. A monster as well and very fat but not quite big enough. LOL. I will try harder tonight. LOL. I was going to go home but too tired to drive so I guess I will go fishing.

Well done CM!
A solid response to dbFish.

I am smoking nervously in the corner with my 12.5" yesterday looking at the battle of titans

That's a good one RM. Maybe we should have a crappie tournament or a TV show all about crappie. We could have a different guest every week. And they all would have a different way of fishing for crappie. Crappie fishermen are like finger prints......no two are the same.

I fish during the day for spring crappie. I would say after walleye opener is when I go to the dark side and fish at night. In the fall I start at about 11am and fish the day and night for as long as I can. Sept. Oct. Nov. Is my favourite time of year to fish. Wish I did not have to sleep or eat I would never leave the water.
