We are in Honey Harbour area. The other night my wife saw a much larger bear (than the one I posted) lazily crossing the lawn when she was up in the night.
When were at the French River Provincial Park back-country camping, these bears were called "camp bears". They travel from campsite to campsite eating whatever was left or thrown out by the campers. They don't do that unless there is food left at those campsites. Same holds true in our area. If you see a lot of bears in your area, there is food around somewhere. One thing is for certain, they are not stupid animals.
We did a check outside to see if we are guilty of leaving anything that might be considered 'bear-edible'. That said, they will eat almost anything.....lol. We may have found out why we had a visitor. When we brought the turkey home a few days ago, it leaked on one of the car floor mats. We took it out of the car and was going to wash it before putting them back in the car. It seems the bear washed them first....lol. (along with a few bite marks) Their sense of smell extends up to 20 miles....amazing animals.

We seen a bear near Coldwater on the weekend in a field by a forest. We drove back a few hrs later and spotted him again running around in about the same place.
