All I can say is greed is a sin, and theft is a sin. These people should never be allowed to fish again. They harmed those fish, that is just cruel. So glad these dishonest people got caught cheating. Hopefully their faces will be remembered for a long time.

Just finished reading up on these two guys, there are many articles. I wonder how many fish they have killed in catch, weigh, and release tournaments. How could anyone harm a fish like that with no conscience. Do they have no morals or ethics at all, the list of words goes on as to what these men have none of. They have won so much, and who knows how many times they were not being honest. DISGRACEFUL!!

I don't know how many tournaments these guys have done their dirty deed in, and I don't generally wish any harm toward to others, but maybe someday someone will force-feed them some lead weights to show them how those innocent fish felt.

This story made the N.Y. POST...the N.Y. TIMES...SPORTS ILLUSTRATED and so many other news outlets. Every report was relatively the same, talked about them getting caught this time, and being disqualified from a tournament last year. Also winning a few tournaments this year. And all this money they have won in the past. Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah.....All fish should be treated with care and respect, whether fishing for sport or fishing for food. Where are the people speaking for all the fish these guys have tortured and killed for who knows how long. This is animal (fish) cruelty caught on video. Why don't they report on that. I will tell you why, because not enough people care about the fish, that's why. THANK GOD FOR THIS FISHING FORUM. I can tell from the responses so far that the members on this FISHING FORUM first thoughts were for the well being of the fish. Many of us have had a fish perish by some unfortunate incident. That is going to happen from time to time. BUT.... I am still in shock how these guys could torture all those fish. Who knows how many times they have done such things. And not just them, I am sure these two are not the first people to cheat by harming a fish in a tournament. My final thought on this is as always my thoughts on fishing and boating. If you see something illegal or against the regulations, report it please. Good luck, and stay safe out there everyone.

In a world where grand master chess players are beaten by cheaters wearing vibrating anal beads, nothing surprises me anymore.
I've been watching the updates and I've seen a podcast with the fellow running the tournament and it sounds like this might be a catalyst to some rule changes. Maybe we can hope for fairer treatment for all in the near future? Maybe it will eventually be harder work to cheat your way into first place than it would be to just catch the damn fish.
