Spent a couple days at my parents place north of Sudbury. My dad and I hit a couple lakes in the area for bass. Usually I’m up there in the summer, and Mother Nature was a bit rough this time but the bass were still around. In the summer, it’s pretty much a guarantee that two guys can get 100 bass a day. This time our numbers were much lower, but the average size was much better.
Day one was only a couple hours between heavy rain storms, but we still managed to put some big girls in the boat, mostly on a spinnerbait or chatterbaits in less than 15’ of water.

Day two was chilly! Strong north winds and the high never got above 5 deg all day, but at least it was dry. Did get a few snow flurries!
Once again, on the second lake we hit, they were absolutely smashing a chatterbait in about 12’ of water. Best fish of the day settled the Rapala digital right at 5.8 lbs. I lost two more that day that were every bit as big as that one as well.
