Help with boat motor removal please

Hi,

Sorry if these are silly questions I just don't know and it's my first time.

I had the motor winterized $$$ and although I was told I could tarp it well and store it outside I was also advised to take it off store it inside and flip the boat.

In picture #1 does anyone know if I can disconnect from this part which will make the job easy?

In picture #2 if I start unhooking the wires from the boat can the rear light part come off also so I don't have to break the small plastic straps holding all the wires together?

Or picture #3 do I just tarp the whole thing really well and leave it all outside?

What size is that? 15-25? Leave part in Pic#1 attached, can't see the point of disconnecting it. Go get yourself an outboard stand or build your own, then you can either put it in the garage or basement away of gnawing rodents. That's not an overly large boat, flip it over on either the trailer with a couple of 2 x 4's across the trailer or up on saw horses.

or maybe take out the fasteners for the wiring and then remove the outboard plus the wiring.


easy enough....I would seal the screw holes and then just leave the wiring loose for next year, so you don't have to do it every year


don't know how cold it gets where you are but if your engine is winterized properly, it should be fne outside
