Good Day,
Coming up from Sarnia for a couple day trip tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone has any recent reports for cooks/vb/pb areas. Open to trying new locations too.

Fished cooks yesterday. Kept 49 between three of us. All keepers were 11.5”-12” with one 13”. Released so many 11” it was scary. Best tip I can give you is we were no where near anyone and were in very very shallow water. We got them on swim baits and mini crank and twitch baits. Active fishing for perch is just a blast.

I was out of PB roughly 2-3 weeks ago and they were biting good, pretty much non stop between 9-3. Three of us on the boat and we kept 77 between 10-12", caught a few in the 14" range as well. Lots of action on shiners, and switched to plastics when shiners ran dry. Drop shot rig 24' of water

Disco,
Fishing for simcoe jumbos in shallow water on cranks etc. sounds like a blast!!
Half the reason I don't perch fish outside of ice season much is I find it boring - sure it can be fun if you land on a school of 13 inchers.....but besides that I'd rather target other species.

But that sounds like a fun time for sure!
One of my favourite way just because of the hits.
A long time friend of mine who is amazing at Perch had never tried crank baits before for them. I introduced him one day to it and he still talks about how fun it was. A highly recommend it.

Hard pressed to get a limit for one yesterday. Went shallow and deep. Best one went 11". The rest...10s&9s. And a crap load of small ones. Boated maybe 60. Everyone else seemed to be getting about the same. Cleaning a 10 though, found a couple shiners and a 3 inch goby. And it still ate my bait. LOL
