Got the boat put away and all my Fall chores done, so decided I should go and do some shore fishing at the lower Notty.
Being the elderly lazy fisherman I am, I went to the Park where I can throw a spawn sack with floaters into the river, put the rod in a holder and then sit in the car where it is warm.
Fished for 3 hours and never moved a rod.
Not many people there and I never saw anyone else move a rod or have fish.

Use to start fishing the nott this time of year up stream. Seemed you would only run into true fishermen when its -8 or so waiting for the sun to rise. Would go after the deer rifle hunt was over. Got into bow hunting and haven't been on the river bank for a few years now. But seemed every year there were less and less fish running. Wondering if that trend is still in a downward spiral?

As you know, Ralph, I live on the river. Lately it has been down to summertime levels. I drive by a popular spot any time I go anywhere. I have talked to a few fishermen over the last week or so and most seem to have no luck at all. Maybe a big rain would kick start a run.
