We were on the water and fishing by 8:30. Sunny, cool and very little wind.
Started fishing in 30fow and following the shore down towards the river mouth. Marking lots of bait and a few fish. Something hit my blue/siver Gibbs Koho spoon down 20ft in 25fow. It made one mighty run and that was it--gone. No other hits all day.
We fished the 25fow-50fow some more and marked lots of bait and a few fish.
Moved out to deeper water and marked the odd suspended fish, as well as lots of bait.
In the 100fow to 140fow we marked hundreds of fish tight to bottom. I'm guessing they were whitefish. We ran a variety of small silver spoons down at their depth, but no takers.
