Hello,
I just got a Bimini Top for next year and I was wondering if anyone else has experience with these?
Good? Bad? More pain that it's worth? Do I have to go slower now?
And on a side note about not messing with the wife.
I told her I was getting her a new really nice ugly stick (it's the rod she likes) and she made it perfectly clear no fishing stuff.
I bought the rod had it wrapped up super nice at the mall with bows and ribbons etc. I come home and act all excited and say it arrived I was worried it wouldn't and her face ow boy. This is a fishing rod I can feel the reel!
I couldn't have her mad all week so we did the x-mas exchange that night. Her face when she saw the rod packaging was total Grinch and then fell out the real present and she was shamed all evening as I sang do they even know it's xmas time at.

Great for sun protection during the mid-day hours. Not much good for morning and evening trolling. If you install the top with the front slightly lower than the back (lean the forward), you can motor across the lake and the bimini will stay steady. I built a couple support arms to connect the back arm of the top to the side gunnels and it helped steady everything (some old tent poles cut to length and connector end/brackets found on Amazon did the trick).
For trailering, the trick is to get it to lay flat out of the wind.

Ah leave it up, when the boat starts to get air just throttle down little.. Definitely will keep the sun off you.. If you have a boat cover it could effect it.
