So how much ice on main lake? Anyone been out? Longe range doesn't look good for early January and big bungalows out on the main lake.

It's been very cold this past week and the car says -12 today.

You can't see much with the snow falling but here is a snap from a few min ago.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I walked out today from the South Shore about midway between Deep Water Point and Callander Bay. Went out about 150 yards. There was lots of slush anywhere there was an accumulation of snow on top of the ice. Where there wasn’t much snow the ice was much better. Drilled a few holes and measured about 6 1/2 inches of good dark ice with various amounts of slush and water with another crust over top of it. It’s cold today but the long range forecast is calling for milder temperatures and some rain. Not sure what condition the ice will be in for the opener but I suspect it will be portable huts only. My 2 cents anyways. Merry Christmas everyone.

Hey guys, for those who have a little more experience, how much damage do you think this warm weather and rain will do? Will it wipe out 7-8” of ice that’s already in some spots? Hoping to salvage a trip to the area if possible but not holding breath
