Merry Christmas everyone and happy new year! I finally got out onto the ice for the first time this season. Of course my target was Crappies, however no such luck.At this point and time it didn't matter, a fish of any sort caught through the ice would do the trick. It's very painful waiting in-between the transition from water to ice.Sometimes it feels like months in-between not weeks. Of course I had been checking the ice on this small lake for a couple of weeks, and just now I would feel comfortable on the 4 inches that was found in the area that I fish Comfortable or not, in early season I do recommend a flotation suit of some sort and some ice pics along with a spud bar. The two days I went out were not super productive however I did test all my rods and equipment and caught 2 pike to keep me off the skunk chart.Feeling very blessed to be back it! Have a Crappie day.

Hi Dale, Did I talk to you Wednesday evening and you were listening to the music in your hut? I was in a black and red floater suit walking back to shore. Nice pikes! Fishing was slow for me for crappies that day as I mentioned but got one and lost one .
