Good afternoon fellow hard water enthusiasts.
Group of us heading up to the Nip this weekend and next, unfortunately our outfitter, like many others, have been pushed back on hauling out the Bungalows.
We are more than equipped for over night camping so we are still heading up this weekend with the pop ups but was just wondering if anyone up there has witnessed any ATV's or Snowmobiles out at Deep Water Bay, Callander Bay or any other area's yet?

I’ve been out a couple times now on South Shore between Deep Water Point and mouth of Callander bay. No sleds or ATV’s I just walked out. No permanent shacks out yet (including my own), just some pop ups. Weather has been so mild though I’ve just been fishing outside. Some water and slush close to shore but dry further out. Measured mostly 5-6 inches of decent ice. Good luck !

We had a bit of snow overnight and more coming tonight. It’s still rather mild so it will make it a bit harder to pull a toboggan. Supposed to get colder in the next few days though. I will be going out later today and tomorrow and can give a further update.

Fished Callander bay opening day and only saw 1 snow machine out all day. He went all the way out to the islands. Pretty sketchy.
Everyone else walked out. Probably a few dozen people on the ice at least. Lots of pop ups.
The ice varied from 4" to 6".
Fishing was great tho, 830am to noon. Stopped counting after 15 fish. 2 fish over slot (18.5 & 19") and managed 1 keeper at 16.5". Lots of fish in the 14-15" range. Live minnow on jighead was the winner.
