I was getting 5-6 inches of black in my holes on calendar bay today but several inches of slush above that. Two smaller permanent huts seen, rest were pop-ups.

Kokemachine just did a live report from Callander Bay, he reported 4 inches of black and a bunch of chat on top of that..
Be safe folks.

Ice thickness in west arm seems worse than it was on the 1st what with the snow cover. Went out again today to check . Took one step and went through to my crotch just shy of the boys. Didnt even get to use the ice pole and didnt get as far as i did on the 1st. This is a spot that normally freezes first in my decade of experience so needless to say that ended the expedition. BE SAFE . Dont trust the ice anywhere.

Fished Callander today. No bites but saw Perch on the aquavu. Same conditions as Kokemachine mentioned yesterday. Will try again tomorrow.

First fish of 2023.

Dead stick this evening and I ran into Kokemachine on the ice!

Slushy but solid ice underneath.

I hear someone went through the ice on fish bay and a hut went through on nosbonsing… don’t see it mentioned here.
