X2... the length of the hose determines how long you will need to purge.. I switched from a 6' hose to a 3' hose because of this. Hold pilot down until you smell propane... click the ignitor a few times then you will see it start to sputter

Tried all the suggestions other buying a shorter hose; nothing worked. Finally hooked up a 1lber on one side and big tank on the other. Fired up then disconnected the 1lber. Worked fine on large tank; finally! Thanks again for all the tips. Hopefully everyone gets out on safe ice soon. I’m off to a put & take lake this weekend.

Sometimes the thermocouple builds up with carbon, and restricts it from telling the main valve to open. A small wire brush can Sometimes buy you another season of use if that's the problem.
