Looking for info regarding ice conditions. Plan on heading out to the Manitous on Saturday. Can you drive a sled out from the marina yet? Ice thickness? Any info would be great!

Cheers,

was out and there are a few cracks to cross, just need to look where but only 7 inches of ice. seems ice gets thinner when you get out further as was 9in in 23 ft

What size of sled (4-wheeler?) did you take out to the Manitou's and from what starting point?
Also, did you venture 'inside' the islands?

Was curious on conditions as well out at the Manitou's. Based on Kensters post of roughly 7" would think that number came from measurements taken prior to the 12th.

With the dip in temperatures over the weekend (-26 Saturday morning and -24 Sunday morning) i would think we gained some thickness.

Any update would be greatly appreciated

Was out last Thursday from the Bay and didn't actually make it to the islands,Stopped a few miles shy. I drilled holes in 23ft on the way out and measured 9 in. Where i fished i measured 7 in. Took my sle 500. I would say your good to go but i have no idea whats around and in between the islands. My guess is its the cracks to watch out for and i don't waste any time going over them and i look for a somewhat decent spot to cross.

Update as we camped out here this weekend.

Camped out at the Manitous this weekend (still here for tonight sat 21 jan)

Not to say it's the same everywhere but solid 12" of ice, top 3 or 4 is frozen slush/slop rest is good ice.
