Maybe Taj should just charge more for minnows and not enforce trespassing on his property if people park illegally

Charging more for minnows is not the answer ...".Whynot".......He has to be competitive in business and if you are charging too much for minnows .....you loose business!

But if someone is trespassing his property illegally......his got 100% right to enforce the trespassing law.

I met Taj once on a nice fall day a couple of years ago when i came by to buy minnows.

Usually we go fishing happy and I was excited on that day. Somehow multiple positive posts I read about Taj before that made me think I would meet a happy and confident man. Obviously we have plenty of difficult days in our life when we do not look happy. He was nice and sold me too many minnows for that price. But I noticed and now remember that sadness in his eyes which kicked me off a bit... Hopefully he was sad because of something else, but it makes me sick to link it now with the harassment he faces...

If some of those schmuck operators are reading it now you better go and apologize to Taj and change your behavior, because when I get your name it will be my duty (and probably of many people here) to fill fishing forums and social media with asks to stay away from your business.

If there is a "mob" to be organized to visit nearby operators and ask the same personally let me know.

Just terrible. You have the support of many Taj. there are hundreds of posts on this forum that say your the best out there. jealousy and redneckery can be terrible things. You are the best and i hope your article and all the support will help you and your family!!!!

I have not had the pleasure of meeting Taj and his family, but have heard so many good reports from people fishing with him in the past and present. These incidents that this family has had to endure is beyond ignorance. This harassment is racism and must not be tolerated. There must be someone that can come forward to assist him with this situation. If anyone out there has witnessed any of these incidents in the past. Or they see something going forward, it would be so kind of you to document any further harassment. I do suggest that he does call the police in the future when he is harassed. Some of my friends that come from other countries have experienced this same form of racism. It is shameful and it is a crime.

I have only dealt with Taj a couple times but he is outstanding, as far as the operators….it’s not hard to figure out, who else runs out of port bolster. One made a post this week on Facebook about not having huts out just because he didn’t think it was safe enough and didn’t want to do it just to be the first one out there. Then I see a day later Taj was putting huts out. Sadly small towns can be prejudice, I’m from one and can be guilty of comments I have made in the past. But age has also taught me idiots come in every colour.

Taj is a great guy and always helpful and courteous. The next time a situation arises take out your phone and start videotaping it. You'll see how fast that s%$t stops.

I like the way you are thinking. If we find out the operator form a picket line of people to talk and give info to about the racist. Make sure he gets the message that we can come back at any time. Count me in. I am completely down for that.

Taj I think that you should reflect what is in this thread to the newspaper as a followup. It will definitely show what you do for tourism and how real people admire what you do for them and the following that you have. I love this family. This fishing forum is showing its heart and I am proud to be part of that. It is what makes the forum great. Thank you everyone.

I'm disgusted with the attitude of those involved in this racially motivated harrassment, but unfortunately it's not surprising to me.

I've lived in the Sutton/Pefferlaw/Beaverton areas for 30 years, and the mentality of the locals is little more than that of a Donkey.

Stay strong Taj.... Your efforts are well known and respected within the fishing community. Your bread and butter loves you!

As for the other parties involved....they should be named and shamed similar to those involved a few years ago pertaining to the threating behavior towards walkers using the " Ice Path".

If it's the same ######.....he needs to be shut down for good by the fishing community. Once and for all.

IF we could only find out who are those Operators in this area causing problems for Taj.........we should give them PAIN where it really hurts ......IN THEIR BUSINNES ......in their pocket book!!!! .Go on Social Media and let all the people know ( who likes ice fishing) that how low life and racist these people are! They DO NOT deserve any business and everybody should stay away from them!

I have been to Casey's with my son and my 88 year old uncle and have been treated with the best service and do not have a a single complaint about Taj and his wife . We have been there six times and always a great time .Anyone who would cause them harm in any way should be ashamed . Hopefully that kind of behavior towards Taj and his family stops as they are decent people with the same rights as every one else .

Taj also gets my vote for friendliest, and possibly hardest working operator on Simcoe. I typically get minnows and park with him, then walk out; but he regularly will stop me on the way back in to see if I or my son and I need a ride in, he'll ask how we did, and he is always smiling and nice to us. I have nothing but praise and respect for Taj and his family. They provide a great service and work very hard to make ice fishing in Port Bolster (PB) a great experience. I make a point of fishing out of PB a few times every year, using Taj's great services, even though PB is not where I regularly go. Taj, you're the best!

It’s a zoning issue. He needs to submit a minor variance application or zoning change. Hopefully just the minor variance and it is much cheaper to do. I’ll call Taj myself and see if he wants me to help him with that. Not a quick process and if the city is against him for any reason… it can start to add up quick.

There is only a couple of operator that come out of that access point. Without even asking I am sure most can guess who is giving him a hard time. But one thing I know is…. When people are jealous of you… then you are doing something right.

I think they would hate you regardless what colour you are. If you fully booked all the time and they can’t cover their gas most of the days…. It would be hard for them not to hate you! Lol 😝
