Soooo, my trip with Chilly's got cancelled in early Jan, because of no ice. I thought I was done for the season and a trip wasn't going to happen. But the Ice fishing Gods came through...A friend who was on our original trip has hooked us up with a hut on the Feb10th weekend with Robs...we understand that the fishing will be slower...but has anyone been out with them already this year. How has it been?
Any tips on fishing in Feb would be great, as we usually do the early trip.

We stayed with them last year and they were good people. We happened to hit the extreme cold that weekend and most of our ATVs wouldn't start so they pulled us in with his Jeep at no charge.

I went with Nick and Nikko in 2020, just before the pandemic and the fishing was ok. We got a few walleye just under the old slot size (would be keepers now). We returned to them last year in late February. We got our limit in keeper walleye, a ton of undersized walleye, a few massive perch, a couple of small pike, a crazy amount of cisco and I lost a monster burbot right at the hole.
The trick is to be mobile and move around the area a bit until you find the fish. The fishing is only slower in Feb if you are not willing to put some work in. That was the difference for us between 2020 and 2022.
Most fish were caught on a pink buckshot or silver dinner bell spoon. We also go a few on the deadsticks.
