Going up the first weekend in Feb. Any one else going the same time or has anybody been fishing the area yet this year? Really looking forward to getting up there again. We usually go family day weekend but want to try earlier this year.

there was a crew who just fished there and caught over 100 fish.

I usually hop on the ice right next door at Wade's Landing as it's only 5 minutes from my place. From there i usually head 12 to 20 km up the west side of South Bay. Did that 2 weeks ago and caught lots. Good mix of Perch, pike and eyes. Managed my 2 in the slot plus one 24 inch and scads that were +/- 14 inches.

Bite slow most of the day and started to pick up around 4 pm and really turned on from 5 to 630. Had a 20 minute stretch where i landed 7 walleye including 2 double headers. Being solo i could almost not keep up.
