My Rob’s Five Star experience, Jan23-26

I’m currently in the hut. Fishing has shut down due to weather. I don’t blame the operator tho. I had a great first 36 hours.

Walleye:16 - 3 in the slot. Kept one and ate one released other.
1 beautiful 24” walleye. Only one over slot

Pike: 1 -30” pike. Fantastic fight. Unfortunately the buckshot pulled from his mouth and imbedded in my hand past the barb. Hurts to tear out but all is fine.

No perch but a few cisco
I had a very similar trip last year and I’m coming back in 2 weeks.

Huts: great. Functional. Used but very clean.
Service and communication: great
They load you with bait

Surprised fish shut down as usually they bite better in snowy windy weather in my experience. The last couple of times the bite was very late usually after 3

I’m in a bungalow.
Bite picked up tonight. Couple pike(one large and one small).
5-6 small walleye.
2 missed heavy pick ups.
Slowed down again
