Anyone know the location of this known "graveyard" on Scugog? You hear of snowmobiles going through the same spot every year.

I am familiar with the Lake (walking) but now have a sled. I have rented a cottage with two other families next weekend and assuming the ice allows for it I would love to bring the sled to enjoy over the weekend.

We are staying on the north end of the lake, just past Oakdene Point.

I always use extreme caution and check the ice myself before venturing out but thought I would check and see if this location was a known spot and if so where.

Thanks in advance and tight lines

I’d be very careful, the river may still be open.

Yes I’ve also heard around the river can be very dangerous, I’ve also heard there’s a spot around Caesarea that can open up. Not very experienced on scugog though so don’t quote me on this. Hopefully somebody more experienced will comment.

the area where you are staying, towards the river, has seen enough sleds through the ice, so be careful.

area @ cesarea also is know to have some underwater springs which can cause ice thickness to vary by a few inches in few spots.

i have not been there this year yet so i cannot provide more details.
