Well we are back from our weekend trip to Ben's Ice Bungalows. Service was as great as always. Ben, Wade and Mike treated us as family as always.

We had a great time. 7 under slot walleye's 1 pike (hammer handle) and 1 keeper perch. And 1 rod reel and holder down the drink, the only real aggressive hit we had.

The hut next to us landed a 50" pike so no wonder the bite was light and very few around with that monster cruising under our huts.

Everything on dead stick minnows and I mead dead. Any movement and they were gone just mouthed the tail.

And we were allowed 1 truck out to a hut on Saturday afternoon the road out was sloppy in places but other than that it was getting better, there was at lease 10" of ice where we drilled holes but not much traffic out past where we were.

Cloudy and mild Friday cold and cloudy Saturday.

Pictures to follow as the come to me.

Sounds like a fun weekend of fishing. I wonder if your neighbours weighed the pike. That would be getting very close to the Ontario record. 50 inches is an absolute giant.

Hey big G ......great report ...I agree when big predatory fish come in an area they give the smaller fish you target an anxiety complex so they get spooked and are finicky to hit

Solution: catch all the monster... LOL
