You should see this on the back of the card.
If not...call MNR.

HA! Thanks for this reminder. I just renewed my fishing licence as well. Will have to use the temp print-out until the plastic one arrives, o well. Haven't been out on the ice yet anyways.
Cheers!

i keep my card in the truck but they send you an e-copy with QR code, last year i was checked by MNR and he just scanned my phone QR. Also I was with my son who is 6 and I asked him what is the limit he can keep, he said he can keep the same as my license allows as he does not need a license so in my case being a sport license that's 50 perch incase anybody with small kids or Sr. was wondering. That said no was I was cleaning more then 20 fish total and being with a 6 year old we caught like 10 total lol

The MNR officer told you your 6 year old "can keep the same as your license allows as he does not need a license '?

I am sorry this information from this officer is not correct.

Per current Ontario Recreational Fishing License Regulations, your 6 year old son can ALWAYS keep the limit as if he had a SPORT fishing license, REGARDLESS what license (CONSERVATION or SPORT) you have.

Per current Ontario 2023 Recreational Fishing Regulations Summary, Page 6:

I think you’re reading too much into this - he was in fact correct. If the kid was with someone with a conservation limit, sure the kid would still be allowed a sport limit. But the dad had a sport limit and the CO said kid can keep same as dad. Correct in this case

Ok, sounds good to me.

I guess if I didn't know the regulation on this, from what the CO said "the kid can keep same as dad (dad has sport license)", I would not be able to obtain the other half of the correct information, that is, even if dad has a conservation license, the kid can still keep the same limit as a sport license holder:-) Perhaps I should have said what the CO told the dad is not complete on what the kid's limit is in all cases:-)

But now I understand one may say or ask why the CO has to provide you with complete information on this? If he just offers the info good enough to cover the particular case (dad has sport license, and kid can keep the same as dad), then it is all good

yeah i was very specific with the CO and talked numbers, I have a sport license so I can keep 50 perch and he said my son can keep 50 as well for a total of 100, same for wf he can keep two like me no license needed because he is in the care of me

And if you ever switch to a conservation license the kid can still get 50 perch and you get 25...
