I fished near orillia side today the ice looked like a chess board with black and white ice junks frozen everywhere but was 4-7 inchs , I walked out close to 2 kms out , I could see a few guys out on whitefish shoal on foot , i thought they were crazy , not much hope for when this rain and warm weather hits tomorrow. Seen a bunch of sleds n atvs out all around me

The 15 and 16 are 2 days of rain all week temps are in the plus i think the season is gone except for the darwin awards hope its an early water season now you can spend the next few weeks getting spring gear ready. Should be great for fish next year with the low pressure the lake has seen this winter

Or we can look on the bright side and hope this weekend heals it up some. Next week will takes another little punch and following weekend can start making ice again for a few weeks lol.
March is coming though and a few inches of ice won't last that long lol. 🙃
Just think of all the fish we are saving for next year haha.

LISTEN I need there to be enough ice in cooks bay for me to fish for my annual trip in a week so everyone on this forum....start praying to the.... ice gods? lol

Pick up some 2"x10"x16' and you'll be fine.
Use them to get onto the ice from shore, and then once you're on the ice.... you can strap them to your a## incase you go through. Safety first!
