Hey folks,

Just wanted to post our results from the previous weekend. We stayed with Nick, Nikko and Bruno at Rob's 5 Star Fishing.

Our weekend total was 6 Perch, 7 Sisco and 76 Walleye. 1 Walleye over the slot and 11 in the slot. There were only 3 of us and we only kept our limit.

The bite is light. You have to be holding your rod in your hand with your finger on the line or you will be missing bites.

Even dead sticking a minnow on a hook. We would keep our electronics on and watch them come in and really have to pay attention to feel the bite.

They also weren't hitting much that was moving. Even using rattle baits and spoons... they would come in and take a sniff but wouldn't bite it if we moved it. We would usually tip with a full minnow and leave the bait still once some jigging produced a mark on the screen.

The other thing is that at least 75% of the walleye we caught were caught after dark. One night we were up until 2:30am because we didn't want to go to bed until the bite slowed. It never did and we went to bed anyway having to pull our lines out of the water. When we woke up at 6 the fish were still biting until sunrise.

Good luck to everyone who still has a trip booked this year.

Tight lines

Nice haul! Any time you can sit in the shack with the sun shining in wearing a t shirt and your slippers on pulling in fish is a pretty good day. Especially in February
Cheers.

That makes me want to try a night fish. Nice trip.

It's very true about the light bite, nibble nibble nibble you really do have to feel it to make it happen this year.

Frustrating slot but looks like the fishing was good. I’m sure the slot is helping the lake.

Wow over 70 walleye….we caught 4 walleye between 16 people over 3 days with a different hut operator. Was terrible fishing for us.
