Hi All,

I'm hearing and reading the ramp at DW Point is a disaster. Just wondering if anyone has been able to drag their huts out of Jim Andrews storage somehow on to the lake? Have had mine in storage for 3 years now and was hoping to get up next weekend to finally pull it out but it is sounding like the ramp is not doable.
Searching for hope and/or advice and/or reality.

TIA,
Matt

It was nasty indeed last weekend. Can’t imagine it’s too much better now.

Not much ice for this time of year and aside from a night or two, hasn't been very cold. We just got hit with snow as well (more weight on top of what limited ice there is). IINM, that spot has a bit of a creek/inflow and needs cold weather to hold up to the traffic.

I have no first hand accounts, but I bet it's not in good shape.

Is there enough ice for a truck?

I was through there on Sunday, it's about 6-8 inches deep and around 8' wide ( some areas are narrower). I had to drive my snowdog through it and other machines were jumping/driving through it. I wouldn't take my truck through it but if your towing out your hut with a sled just bring some 2x10s for the hut to slide on. It should make it there are a lot of huts out there but no trucks that I seen.

Good luck

My buddy and I was there last week and dragged a hut out through here. Got it stuck but a young lad with a side by side with tracks was able to help us out. Our other 2 hut we were not going through that again so we dragged them down the road to Lincs Beach. Thats the next closest access that I'm aware of.
