Hey guys just got back from the Lift Bridge down by the skyway, and well the fishing wasn't bad 2 for 3 using a glowing cleo. I'd say about 2 1/2 - 3 pounds, all males.

Now the bad part, Packed up my stuff, shoved my 10' 6" noodle rod into the suv, with the back seats down the rod fits on an angle (broken down is roughly 5') I closed the hatch and heard a little *crack* preyed to god it wasn't the rod but it was
2 eyelets down in the middle of the 2nd and 3rd so about 4" broke off.

What would be the best bet to fix this? Eyelet repair kit or what?

Thanks
- Brandon

Glad you landed some steelhead.. But that whole rod mishap makes me cringe, I can hear the rod cracking sound... Worst sound in the world!!

I have tried to repair such breaks, with limited success. I used an old rod section that fit over the crack and then epoxy the area. Worked for awhile, but broke again, just a hack fix.. But I tried..

For eyelets repair. I have done that, and worked good. Put the eyelet where you want. Wrap with strong nylon thread and epoxy/fibreglass resin, then coat with uv resistant paint.

There is a rod repair shop in Mississauga - it's called Aikmans. I never used his rod repair, but he helped me find parts for my old minnkota..

Thanks admin.
I had to do a quick fix today as my buddy wanted to go out to Bronte, I overlapped the broken part on the rod about an inch, used 6 zip ties, pulled them tight, cut the extra off, wrapped it in electrical tape and away i went
Landed 3 fish and it's still in tact But for sure will be getting ti repaired in the future.
