on friday there were some 12" of ice, out of which 9" of black ice, BUT every here and there there were drain holes in the ice from last week's heavy rain. around the holes, the ice was markedly thinner, maybe 5" - 6"

on sunday went again with kids, there were maybe 10" and the water froze over those drain holes to the point i could not tell where they were anymore.

shore was still frozen but starts to show signs of softening in the afternoon.

I got out today and that's exactly what I saw also. Fish were pretty active.
