we were at Ross yesterday and the ice was good. The fishing----not so much. Beautiful day. Quite a few people out I hope that Joe will be good next week for both the ice and the fishing.

I just received a message from my friend that lives on the lake ( in from Reef Island) and with last night warm weather and the rain they are getting today, he warned me to stay away.
Not worth the risk . He suggested to wait till the cold weather returns

I will know Saturday. My spot should be good as it is protected by islands. I would not venture out to the main lake. I will spud out from our bay before running any machines or setting up shop. I believe conditions in my area will be great for travel with the warm temps as of late, accompanied by rain then temps dipping to double-digit lows on Thursday and Friday night. Hopefully the dreaded Lake Joe slush firms up.

Rosseau had a good layer of water on it today where I was looking. I was out on lake muskoka last Sunday great day but only 3 inches of good ice it just froze last cold snap. My buddy mooving around my hole made the ice flex down and up. The pressure crack I saw going out trippled in size while we were out. The lake my hut is on close to Ross Nd has lots of ice but was getting slick. I will be investing in good cleats.

6 inches at reef lots of atv and snowmobiles
I really appreciate your ice report. My buds and I are hoping to fish there next week. I will suggest though that you are being a bit too specific re location. Maybe you can edit location info out other that saying it's on Joe. thx
