Back from the cottage. Fished two lakes, one where the cottage is, and the other nearby. Caught close to 20 small lakers (like around 1lb each:-), and two a bit bigger at around 3lb each.

Well done, James! Glad to see you have had a nice trip and not bad fishing.

I remember seeing that hot pot spread last year (was it?). Same cottage as last year? And did you have WF last year or was it all lakers as well...I can't remember that much but that table spread looked the same.

Thanks. Yes, similar hot pot spread like last year's. But no, last year this time (family day long weekend) we stayed at a cottage in Muskuoka area, and this time at one a lot east at Algonquin Highlands (near Minden)

Thanks, and yes the cottage where I stayed is at a lake that I never fished prior to this stay/trip.

Great looking hot pot spread, my friend added some sliced walleye fillets with hot pot recently and said it was delicious. Did you try any of the lake trout you caught with the broth?

Yes I did try some fillet of the freshly landed small lake trout with the hotpot. And it is indeed delicious:-)
