Got up to the cottage and out on the ice for the opener. Didn't get set up until 10:30ish. Ouch! Found that a squirrel got into the brand new Otter resort flip over. Ouch! Going to need a 4" square patch on the roof before its fisrt outing. 1st location lots of marks only one small laker iced. Moved around 1:30 as we hadn't seen a mark in about 45 mins. Set up on a hump and 1st drop, hit and a miss! Ouch! Stayed until about 5:00 and we managed 3 keepers and put a few back. Anyhow, back to the cottage and cleaned the keepers on the tailgate. Took some pics of measurements for the derby entries...BUT...forgot to add the laminated card! Ouch! Oh well...back at it in the morning. Lets not forget the card this time! Measured 8.5" of ice mostly clear in the second spot... the fisrt spot at 65 fow...not the greatest quality but acceptable to my standards. Quads and sleds all day up and down the lake

Nice to get the kid out., all I caught today were 8 small lakers… 6-17”. No dirty 30 today. Lost a whitefish in the hole. I didn’t make it out to that lake, yet. Tomorrow I get the kids out somewhere. Nice filets!

Great Family day weekend report, really enjoyed the pics and ebbs and flows of your story, those squirrels are a real menace, have similar reports from up at the cottage, damage has occurred to boat, cottage, etc., also happened over the winter time, so glad to fishing was a success.
