Hi all,
In the past, I've managed to stumble into some crappies here and there. I've always heard that there is a pre-spawn ( ice out), then spawn.
Looking for some advice from the more experienced anglers about when are these times typically? Are the. pre-spawn areas the same as the spawn? Is there a period in between where there is no activity, and how long after the ice melts can you expect to start seeing them appear?
really interesting fish, tasty too. Looking forward to hearing your opinions.

I read through your posts like I do when someone asks a question or sends me a PM with a question. This way it tells me more of how you fish or what lakes you like. So your posts didn't tell me much. LOL. There is a big difference in prespawn and spawn and postspawn. I will tell you about prespawn. Because I leave the crappie alone as best I can around spawn and after. I posted this the other day on another thread. Here it is.
