Was up in the Temagami region for Family Day weekend targeting whitefish with some close friends and family. Over 3 1/2 days, 13 whitefish were landed and many more lost. The bite was very light and my uncle out-fished us all with an old school wooden tip-up and spreader. A few whitefish were caught on small vibratos of various colours however live emerald shiners or dace seemed to be their preference. On the last morning we were able to catch 5 species: whitefish, cisco (herring), pike, lake trout and perch.

Wow! Awesome report...sounds like everyone had a blast! It's true regarding the spreader... I've been out fished multiple times by the infamous tip up...hand bombing gets old but still produces

Hard to beat the simple presentation and great for detecting light bites.
