The wife took the photo. Should have moved the tape 1-2 cm to the right what should make the length arond 60cm. Later I checked the notes when the fish was cleaned. I use a heavier fireline as the main line and then about 10' of 4lb fluorocarbon. First few seconds the fight was ok, then it was making big shakes all the way up with the rod bent to the max and sudden straight again. I frantically adjusted the drag back and forth few times. A couple of short runs and then 15-20 loooong seconds at the hole trying to get it in.

Great report RM, so many things here that resonate with me on past trips to Simcoe. Blank sonar screens, the debate whether to move deeper or shallower, packing up and deciding to go for perch at the end of a day- I’m glad it worked out for you with a last chance whitefish!
