Good day all. I hope everyone is enjoying their hard water seasons

A few friends and I are going to try our luck on Temagami for Lakers and Whitefish for the first time. It is a switch of gears for us as normally we fish Nippissing, St Clair and Erie. I have been doing some research to get an idea on baits and gear. I have learned white tube jigs, spoons and live bait presentation for Lakers. Small vertical jigging spoons, jigs and with the use of good old wooden tip ups for whitefish. Just reaching out to some fellow fisherman who may be able to give an idea with what's been working for them and hot colors? And any other advice that will help us have a successful trip. Thanks is advance.

Feb 14 -18 - We adventured (snowmobile) to the Southern Arm of the Lake. Walleye were caught in 24 to 40 FOW, glow style jig - chartreuse tipped with minnow worked for us, did well more so from 4:30pm to 7:00pm vs morning bite. Flasher was used, which helped.

Whitefish - 63 FOW - minnow tipped spreader style rig worked, right on the bottom, we had a camera which made it easier to land them.

Lake Trout - 24 to 63 FOW - Jigging Rap worked for us (Blue, sliver) directly on the bottom and a few feet from the bottom. Again camera helped.

Pike - 24 FOW - biggest one 14.2 pounds, very healthy looking, swedish pimple (medium size - green), smaller pike 4 pounds. Eyeball jig tipped with minnow

Ling, directly on the bottom, once we caught a few around 7 pm, we packed up.

A camera with remote control does help, seeing schools of walleye and white fish was pretty cool. Once sun goes down, camera is useless.

Shiners and pinheads did better than chubs. Dinner bell jig - glow/chartreuse...medium size is the ticket.

All the best and report back...cheers
Tom
