Man it was windy out there! My pop up roof kept popping in on the big gusts, and took a good six anchors to keep her down… but she didn’t budge! Tough fishing . Meegs dance for the win. 1/4oz Dace meegs tipped with a white shrimp maggot and that’s it. Had to dance it just right. Fish moving through all day, lots of chase, but tough to get the bite lots of massive marks moving through. I managed 2 nice whitefish one 20” one 19”. Missed a few bites. Lots of small baitfish moving through. 40ft. Soaked a herring on a quick strike in 50fow, no takers, back in freezer for next time. At the end of the day a two and a half ft drift formed around my tent… quite the sight…. There was barely any snow when we got out there maybe 3”. 14” ice, top 4 white the rest black… conditions are ggggggrrrrrrreat! That’s all folks. Back out mid week.
