Hello,

just wondering what is the difference on the Navionics app between Nautical chart and sonar chart. which one is the true bottom . I notice a there is a difference of the bottom between the both. Thank you

so the nautical shows you the true depth while the sonar shows you the bottom contour?

both show you the depth but sonar has more bottom details, use sonar for fishing and Nautical for travel

Nautical chart is the topographic map mapped out by navionics , the sonar charts are added detail from people submitting data from their sonars and they kinda blend it into their charts. I always use sonar if available it’s generally more accurate I find.

I turned my sonar potion of Navionics on years ago and have never shut it off. Not sure why anyone would. You can navigate on Sonar.

X2 disco , and for those that don’t know on your fish finder it’s called “fish n chip” for the sonar charts , atleast on helix.
