Last I heard was few weeks back when the hut operators in that area were pulling their huts off and calling it a season because they said the ice was too thin. We've had a fair amount of cold since then so I'm assuming its now safe, but I was hoping someone familiar with the area could confirm ice thickness before I head up. I'm a walker so anything north of 6" I'm good with. Thank.

I was out in that area with a buddy on Thursday and cut no less that 10" (several moves). A few slush beds and a few inches of drifted snow is all we encountered pulling sleighs. I'm sure there's more snow now to wade through, but if you don't have to be the further guy first.... If you're sociable, bring a friend -- very few people, sleds, and ATVs. Oh, ya..... And very few larger perch. Good luck for the day.
