Who’s fishing today pre-storm? Im jealous if you are! Someone better play hooky today and hook some fish. I’ll try and sneak out today with son number one… buggers got a PA day from school! -15 now going up to 0and sunny this afternoon… tomorrow’s walk out won’t be so forgiving.

Hi Mykola. I've heard whitefish gets active before the storm. what do you think of herring? Is it the same or shuts off?

Pre storm fish can be gang busters for sure. Timing is everything though. That pre storm feeding frenzy can be great up to just before the storm or can be great, and shut off hours before the storm hits.

When the barometer drops rapidly which it usually does before a storm.....fish become very active. I usually watch barometer on Windy .com for timing.

Cool picture you put up. As for prestorm fishing....Throw on the rain suit and start catching fish. Winter, spring, summer, or fall fishing before a storm and during the storm produces fish. Stay safe out there.
