Fished 8:30-12:30. Fished a variety of depths and areas this morning between 25-50fow and was on constant move with difficulty marking fish. Settled on 35fow on a sandy shelf and managed a nice whitefish topside on a meegs, and lost another half way up. When I cleaned the whitefish there were a couple other plastics in its stomach, similar to what I use but different colour. Can’t have been in there that long, probably from the days before from different anglers, things you would tip your meegs with. Beautiful day I fished without a jacket most of the time out there. Wish I could still be out there but had to take care some things at home. Great ice. Minor slush. Only others out there were moving around a lot, perhaps they had difficulty locating fish as well. I bet the afternoon bite is hot today.

Nice one! Nothing like making it happen in a short window.

Nice one. I like how you don't hide your setup. A bit of worm on the hook? Never tried that in the winter . Enjoy the eats!

I toss that on when I’m having difficulty getting a bite, most days it’s not required, and who knows if it actually made any difference at all. I’ve been rolling with worms this year more than minnows. Half dozen trips with minnows on set lines and all fish came up jigging. No hits in set line yet for me.

The scent of actual fish fare works......I think it had lots to do with it.

nice whitey........don't see why a chunk of worm would harm anything.....as indicated it may just have been the trick required
