I was out last weekend, and found the same thing. (north end of the lake).
I believe there is a bit of an algae bloom happening - days are getting longer (more sunshine) and the ice is not as thick as other years - allowing more light through. This makes a conducive environment for algae to start to grow.

This happens pretty much every year on the lake. The old weed growth starts to die off and decompose and the particles start to get pushed around the lake. Also run off plays a part in the dirtier water and the current as a result of runoff and wind move and distribute the particles throughout the lake.

Out of brechin today had maybe 3-4ft visibility, very murky. Guys nearby had camera down and on bottom clarity was good. In 25 ft water, the top of water column was quite murky. We were right next to a decent pressure crack.
