No action for the past couple hours but the ice has not stopped making noise. Not sure if I like it or not tonight.
My foot went through a small layer or ice about 5 inches deep in water before stepping in the shack. It seems my skirting is melting the ice in the day. I may be pulling it off soon I seen some deep pressure cracks on my way out. Its currently -5 so I bet the noise is good its probably hardening up... I will investigate tomorrow with better light.

Yup, hardening up for sure….wait till all the snow melts off the top, it will get even louder. Out ling fishing, and hear cracks coming closer closer closer louder and louder and BANG***. Right under the shack, feel the whole thing drop an inch… yeah that gets the heart pounding’ when you’re out there alone in the night 🙃

The noise is normally caused by temp changes thru the day as the ice expands and contracts.
