Went out armed for crappies. About a half hour goes by I have a mark on the bottom then a few so I drop a bit and give it a slow rise and twitch. Bang it has a little weight ...is it a walleye it takes me back down and shakes a bit. After that it came up fighting, what a crappie its a pb from this lake.
The screen went blank and shortly after a mark on the bottom begins tantalizing me. I played it and play it and finally gave up, I dropped to the bottom defeated or so I thought. The rod slowly loads and I strike to find no movement. My ultra light is bent right over and the fight began. After taking out my second line and spooling it I cut the other line. It turned into a birds nest that required being pushed down while fighting the beast up and down. 20 min later I see its head.. of course it doesn't want to come up the hole so I slowly move iit up and land a big pike from a small lake. Its about 3 feet long and I'm gonna measure its girth. The girth is astounding it has been feeding well. Perhaps following the schools of larger crappie.

The crappie is 13 inches to give a bit of perspective.

I t had my buddys stinger hook in its mouth. I did rub it in a bit that I landed his "one that got away"

Very cool colour on the pike in the first picture. And of course a nice big PB crappie like that deserves a picture. I wish there was more crappie pictures posted. Thank you for the detailed report.
