I think it’s a typo was 47 and 3/4” not 57” all the other media I’ve seen on it quote the 47-3/4” but I could be wrong. Still the biggest trout in Ontario I’ve ever seen…. And over 57lbs.. woweee. The one drew let get a way earlier this season on his quick strike herring rig. Lol. Last 48hrs for that dirty thirty for derby. I skunked out on simcoe today at a hut operator in whitefish and Burbot grounds, didn’t even mark a single fish.

Hey now, I didn’t ‘let’ it get away 🙃 It didn’t give me a choice - taught me a lesson. I’ve been weeding out all it’s little cousins and grandchildren though, my odds are getting better every time I go…
I really tried for the 30”+ derby category, but I’m out - I even digressed to pike fishing and still couldn’t make it happen.
I believe you are correct on the 47+” length, and not 57. Wow though, that’s still a 4 foot lake trout!!

I even digressed back to fishing simcoe to try to get that 30”, wasn’t our day though. Just giving you a smidge of the biz. what’s a tourney without a little friendly smack talk.
That mega trout though…. Must be older than any angler on this board.
