Due to a family emergency, I had to cancel my backcountry camping trip last weekend. But, I ended up camping in my backyard during a massive winter storm. Missed the campfire and the tranquility of the backcountry but it was quite an adventure. Open fire is not allowed in my city so had to resort to my pocket stove for cooking. Hope you like the video.

I did enough of that in my army days, worst was -52 with windchill in a 10 man tent. a coleman stove, a lantern and an Alladin blue blame heater all running at once. Everything above 3 feet from the ground was thawed, below that, rooster stiff.

What a great original idea to camp out anyway. My first camping trips were in the back yard. What ever season spring, summer, fall, or winter. Just wanted to be outside. Thank you for the flashback.
