A friend of mine asked me today if and when is the pickerel spawn up the Talbot river over in Gambridge. He wants to take his gand kids out to see this. I have no experience on this subject and was wondering if anyone could share their knowledge.
Thanks in advance!!

Over 10 year ago, alot of people including me have icefished from afternoon to evening at north of Beaverton near Talbot river. Its about end of March.
Someones caught nice size walleye.
Later, end of season was changed to mid of March, and it's tough to catch eyes before season.

Thanks for the replies. I don't think my friend was looking to fish. I think he was remembering a time many years ago when the fish used to spawn up the talbot in great numbers and you could visually see them. He was asking me if and when this still happens. I had no experience on the matter and reached out to the board hoping someone might know if this still occurs.

The odd one is mixed in with all the suckers up at the dam, and are very tough to spot. Usually around end of March, beginning of April it happens every year.

Bring polarized sunglasses!

Years ago they would be stacked in the river in early April.

I've heard the numbers have dropped down, but late March/early April would be when I would look for them.
