Went out fri after work to see if the ling are ON. Beauty sunset, got our lines down, just cracked a beverage and the girlfriend is like…”uh….babe….I have something”….I see her in the flip over shack just reeling and reeling and the drags slipping the entire time….I’m like woah…take it easy…figured it’s a little ling and the drag is set pretty loose. I put my hand on the line near the ice to help guide the fish into the hole and I can just feel the line stretching, and the power the fish has. I hear her drag slip…this isn’t little … and we get a respectable laker topside.

Laker was landed at 8:00 pm, and we were there just getting set for ling…so bonus right!? Well, the next few hours played out pretty slow….not sure if I’m a week or so late, or a week or so early for the annual ling fling. A least I brought home a good snack for one guy, but nowhere near a good ling bite. Left the lake around midnight. Maybe next weekend they’ll be ON.

Looks good. Nice bonus laker. I would agree that peak Ling was couple weeks ago, but that’s only based on the amount of pictures I saw last week. Nice sized Ling though.

Yeah, I hear you on the ling pics, but I was thinking that was simcoe and we’re usually a week or two behind seasonally around here, so…? I dunno - I need to get rid of my job so I can go out everyday and keep tabs on these types of things 🙃

I wouldn't be complaining too much about those results for a night of fishing.

looks like a good outing to me. I'd target ling too if I thought I would catch a laker like that!

A I said in an earlier post, our success in Muskoka was abysmal. Some days hardly marked a fish.

Oh well, as they say about the Leafs---We'll get 'em next year, or something like that.
