not personally no. can't see the point in it myself. Might taste like beer, but if I want the taste of beer I'm going to drink the real stuff. On the boat I only drink coffee , than water until home and cleaning fish.

I generally leave the coffee out, and if I'm sweating a lot during the summer I'll down a couple of Powerade or Gatorades. No alcohol in my boat. Unfortunately, years ago I lost a very good friend because of that rule!!

Personally I drink Cocoanut water as it’s the best liquid for hydration hands down. If I don’t have that it’s Gatorade and a giant thermos of hot Tea or cold ice water. Depends on the weather for the last two.

"I've finally had the courage to try Budweiser Zero, and I'll be honest I liked it. I can't wait to finally have a cold "beer" on the boat this summer.
Have you tried any non-alc brew?"
It's great that you're being responsible drinking "beer" on the water. All kidding aside, that is the point here.
I did also try this "product" for the same reason. Then I gave the remaining 5 to a buddy. He gave the remaining 4 to a buddy. So I assume the 7th buddy spent good money on a good beer -- and stayed home?! LOL

Why would you drink a non alcohol beer? If you have a medical condition, a Designated Driver, peer pressure/social acceptance. Speaking from experience I did like a good quality cold beer like a Creemore from time to time and even more often camping or entertaining. Was never a drunk or needed that drink on a daily basis. Then a medical diagnosis and following drug régime meant no alcohol consumption for me. I can live with that I thought. But then you get out together with friends they all have a drink in hand and I couldn't. I don't drink pop or sport drinks so that's not an option. Hence the social pressure to have something in your hand that at least looks like a beer that makes you feel like your fitting in. Worse feeling is when your wife wants a glass of wine but doesn't want to drink alone and it was something you had always shared together. Welcome "Near Beer" as I call it. Now I can sit around with a beer in my hand and drink with the rest and not feel socially awkward. What's the best near beer, Coors Edge all the way in my opinion. It's the closest to a beer I have found. I have tried several and they are gross, Becks, Grosh, Heineken, Budweiser, presidents choice, even Corona and a bunch of others. I'm not saying I take near beer out on the boat I never have, I take a thermos of coffee, frozen water frozen ice tea and always a tetra pak of Vita Coco, coconut water.

A few years ago while we were flying to Europe I was reading a chapter on the Czech Republic. It was describing how the original Budweiser was brewed in the Czech republic. Then it made the following unforgettable statement----" unrelated to that insipid American liquid"

Hi Ralph I quit alcohol consumption 7 months ago and do not miss it. My favourite drink now is PC carbonated water. It comes in a lemon, Blueberry/pomegranate and lime flavour. The flavour is not overpowering and I am definitely hooked on it. Try a couple of cans and see if that hits your spot too.

Yes you are correct the original Budweiser comes from the Czech Republic, AB InBev pretty much tried to copy the recipe and steal the name, which is one reason I'll never spend money on it. It's also not appealing at all to me as a beer, and I'm very thankful we have a system which allows us to have such a wide variety to choose from, most places in North America don't have the luxury we have when it comes to selection of alcohol.
I highly encourage every beer drinker here to try a Czechvar (this is what a real Budwieser tastes like) next time they go to buy some alcohol, it's a very very nice beer in my opinion, and they also have a dark which is very tasty and goes great in cooking stews.
In response to the original post, I drink tea or water 99% of the time when its non alcohol, and on the waters its pretty much just water. As someone who spent a decade in the retail alcohol industry I can tell you the market for non-alcohol beverages was very very small, most people cant justify the price for the taste, which tells you most people spend the money for the alcohol content, not the flavor. But there's nothing wrong with that, lots of people drink coffee and tea for the caffeine, but some prefer it without the buzz.

I would say Becks is the best non alcoholic beverage. People that don’t understand why someone drinks non alcoholic beer should think before making a comment. I personally like the taste of beer over pop so if I don’t feel like drinking alcoholic beer I’ll grab a non alcoholic Becks.

I like this comment very much. There is only 3 of my friends and myself out of about 20 close friends from way back in school that are not alcoholics. Some of them still drink too much. Some have stopped drinking altogether. Two of my friends only drink non-alcoholic beer now, if they want a drink. They said it was a life saver hands down. What ever can help someone kick the habit, I am all for it. As for me when I fish it's 4 bottles of water and 2 Gatorades. That lasts me 12 hours. When I stay out longer, which is always. LOL. I bring more.
